PSD - PEPE IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS -
Back then, the art and culture surrounding Pepe 🐸 fascinated me. I was a collector in the community, but since I had coding skills, I decided to allow myself to share my art with my friends on Twitter, and that’s how PSD was born.
I created my artwork using the p5js library and coded it in JavaScript. I went through more than 10,000 outputs and picked the top 100 pieces that genuinely captured the essence of my vision, particularly the ones that portrayed the frog most beautifully.
To ensure a consistent outcome, I've developed an algorithm that takes a sha256 hash and separates it into pairs. Each pair is then converted to a numeric value and sorted in ascending order.
I then employ a decision tree to implement a randomness system that considers various aspects of the hash pairs' numeric values. For instance, if the third pair is an even value, it triggers one action, but if it's odd, it starts another. This ensures that the outputs are unpredictable and fair while being able to recreate the same result for a specific hash every time the code runs.
Originally, PSD was envisioned as a project for ArtBlocks under the name LUCY. It was a project close to my heart. It was queued for review, but the wait seemed endless as time passed. This waiting period became a turning point. I decided to take a bold step - withdrawing the code from ArtBlocks and embracing the freedom of going independent.
This decision marked PSD's transformation. It was no longer just an idea waiting for approval but a project taking its shape in the Pepe community. Interestingly, when ArtBlocks later reached out for review, PSD had already found its unique path and audience.
The orange palette is an output from LUCY.
After the project was released, I teamed up with five artists who brought their unique color palettes to the project.
This collaboration was about stepping back and seeing the magic others could create beyond my imagination.
The talented artists were Carsonated, Chris Granneberg, JerBear, WeeArts, and Colorcolor.
Reflecting on the PSD journey, I'm filled with gratitude. It started with my love for Pepe and grew into something much more, thanks to the people who supported me and talented collaborators. This collection is just the beginning – it's the first tier, paving the way for future mints and adventures in art. I'm excited about what we'll create next and thankful for everyone who's part of this journey. Here's to more creativity and collaboration ahead!
